Join-Idle Day
Join-Idle Day takes place on October the 21st. The idea was brought upon by Gunhappy, a legendary chatter (citation needed) from the chat channel #Nintendo on the IRC network IRCNet.
The idea of the day is to idle as much as one can.

As told before, the history of the day is young. On October 21st, a chatter Gunhappy asked why people are idling on a chat channel #Nintendo, is it some sort of a day when everyone must idle. Then, after a small chatting, an idea came to chatters' head, if there'd be a day when everyone idle. The Join-Idle Day was born!
How To Celebrate Join-Idle Day [Edit]
The idea is simple. To celebrate Join-Idle Day, you must idle at IRC. First, you join some channels, the usual ones where you talk or totally new ones. After you've joined the channels, you ignore the people who greet you. By that the activity of IRC channels go down for a day, and there won't be much conversation. The consequence is that ircing on Join-Idle Day comes unworthy, so the most active chatters, like Gunhappy himself, can do something else. (citation needed)
