#kaka Wiki

This is a plan that we've had for quite some time now: Instead of the site being in a kind of stasis despite having fantastic features, interaction and backup provided by the one and only Neekeri, we've thought about converting the site into a wiki-based format where everyone can feed their own content, links, all that.

The first thing that clearly belongs there is the poetry corner that is currently in the spamroom.

Also in planning stages is a better 13:37 worship corner/Neekeri implementation.

We really need to get this wiki bit going, but I'm still undecided. The #kaka wiki will probably be in small scale and it should be as accessible as possible so that whenever we feel like adding data, we could.

Are any of you strongly in favour of a particular wiki system?

I just noticed how MediaWiki has been upgraded greatly lately, most notably they require php5 support now (which we largely advocate - in fact, SD was originally partially a channel for Smeagol to run php5 on!).

The problem is that I would like to make kaka really versatile in the content... so that when we feel like writing something there, we could just open the page and slap it in and others could see it.

I personally can't wait to write a cool description about, like, Neekeri and the irc channel structure and all that... and more poems would be awesome. Yeah ^_^

I just received a notification of a new version of Pie (0.5rc1) having been released earlier today. Mailing lists are kewl.

As some of you might know, I've been using Pie to document Angel and the Ape and now with the introduction of a new version, am currently setting it up for kakaistic purposes. Let's try and see how it works.

If it doesn't, we'll try something else. Rightyo.

I've got the latest Pie 0.5rc1 installed now, it's working ok, and it looks like I can convert the old design fairly easily. I will have a look at that next.

Some of you might've noticed, but i did a minor update to the wiki, i've tried to incorporate phpbbs login into it.
It's live atm so please try and test it and see if it breaks somewhere, note though that the wiki login / logout won't work atm...
