Re: The Mod Thread

Ooh! I wasn't sure when they were coming out with a new release. I'd also like to point out that the new 2.0 version of Empires is going to be released on November 30th (tomorrow!). I've been looking forward to this a lot. Furthermore, there have been rumours of Eternal Silence coming out with a new...

Re: The Mod Thread

I've moved the content of this thread over to http://www.slowdays.org/kaka/pie.php?Modifications - it'll be nicer to work with a list of mods there :) For actual discussions of mods I think we can keep this thread open.

Re: KAKA groups

My personal suggestion would be to try to make a full-fledged, informative page out of http://www.slowdays.org/kaka/Terga that would better outline both the history and the modern-day state of our shenanigans :D We could/should perhaps rename the page to something other than Terga.

Re: The Mod Thread

We do not reply to these kind of comments. Particularly when done in such a tone. But I will here make an exception: We chose Fileplanet because they gave us the kind of public exposure that a project like Insurgency needs. We are currently the 7th most downloaded file on their system before commer...

Kane & Lynch Review

Welcome to another completely, utterly subjective review of Kane and Lynch: Dead Men . Somehow, just somehow I hyped myself up to looking forward to this title, clinging to my fantastic memories of Hitman: Contracts . Contracts was the last IO Interactive game I'd played and I simply realized I was ...

So far no reply, but I think http://forums.insmod.net/index.php?show ... t&p=213007 sums it up nicely.

Re: The Mod Thread

I've decided to contact the team and find out what the real motive behind the FilePlanet exclusivity deal was. Let's see if they respond.

Insurgency

Insurgency beta 2 has been released, but is currently only available from FilePlanet , the biggest imaginable corporate, greed-fueled gaming-related shithole online. You need an account to download; Go to KotW for one if you don't have one yet. Let me quote to you an answer regarding this from an I...

Here is a video that details the inner workings of Wuala.

Also, right now you receive 1gb extra storage per every friend you invite.

Re: PDF Readers

I just installed the latest Adobe Reader out of curiosity; It opened fast but the page output is still awfully sluggish. I enable 2D acceleration but it had very little effect. SumatraPDF and Foxit Reader are the only real alternatives right now as far as I see it, you should give a try with both, r...

PDF Readers

I'm beginning to feel a little futile - in search of the perfect answer to everything I keep making these posts asking and polling you for your experiences. Still, hopefully someone's found a program or two based on these threads. I really don't know if these are useful in any way. Recently I've gro...

Re: SD Darknet

Hahah, I think the user guideline is really cute in this particular case :D It's a darknet service and they're all "LA LA LA I can't see what you're sharing LA LA LA" xD

Re: SD Darknet

Here's an interesting blog post on Wuala: http://www.daemonology.net/blog/2007-10-21-wuala-willful-ignorance.html It deals with the program's actual privacy... there's a follow-up to it at the bottom. To me it feels like this guy doesn't mind the fact that the files are being split into 500 parts - ...

Yeah :D I think we had quite a good experience with Wuala last night when I "helped" "Armand" "out" with a "set" of "files".

Wink wink, nudge nudge.

Re: SD Darknet

We also tried Allpeers with Smeagol but it seems quite limited in its scope. Naturally we've also been talking something like a DC hub and so on, but basically the matter of the fact is the network should be as easy and snazzy to use as possible so that everyone could and would join in.

Re: SD Darknet

Okay, I'm currently running Wuala; I'm not sure if it's of any considerable use yet but I do enjoy the interface and it seems fast enough. Check it out! Here's a link that will take you directly to the download section: http://p2p-blog.wua.la/ and use "p2p-blog" for the invite code. If tho...

SD Darknet

This has been a long time coming... Would you guys be interested in forming a darknet? It's clear that it would benefit us all to have for ourselves an unified connection method for sharing files privately. The application should be as easy as possible to use, fast and non-intrusive. Therefore I sug...
