password manager

Postby nobile » Tue Aug 21, 2007 17:08

Have any of you used a program to manage lots of passwords? Or have you heard of one?
I found Keepass (http://keepass.info/), it seems quite interesting, it's open source, but I'm not sure if it's precisely what I need, as in, I'd like to match the password to a MAC Address, or maybe that's just too much to ask?
I found another one, RoboForm (http://www.roboform.com/f), but it only seems to work with things on browsers, not for instance telnet entries...

maybe I'm not thinking it through much, what are your ideas?

I've tried using Keepass as well, in the past, but I didn't really... well, I don't know, it just seems a bit clunky, I don't really need any kind of superb protection in itself for the passwords, just something handy to store passwords with...

Atm I'm going with an excel spreadsheet with password encryption... even change the extension to .txt after using it, so it's not so obivous ;P
