The WRATH of IE

Postby Mortis » Wed Jan 25, 2006 13:06

The library machines at school still have IE only. It's a lethal combination when you have learnt to multi-task with Firefox tabs... you can't do anything with these separate windows! Work rate drops 50% at least.

What a strangely compelling invention, tabbed browsing.

Yes tabs are great, and with foxpose it's even better! A small OSXish touch to them Smile

For those concerned, foxPose seems to reside (for instance) here: https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/m ... ox&id=1457

Surprisingly, after having contacted the computer support staff about not having Firefox on all of the machines, I was told the library machines I most often use had just been left out of the installation cycle by error that has now been fixed. Props to the staff!

Just goes to show how important nagging is!

ninny, you can't use IE for school work, it's impossible... half of the time you spend goes on waiting for windows to open and trying to find the right one :p What does "geek" have to do with "ease of use", anyway? Do you like using inferior products when you know the other one is obtainable?

Hehehe yea, at work I had IE, and really I kind of got used to having 10 windows opened and having to have my taskbar twice its size because of that =P I got FF now though, I thought that if this is a tech place they should have something better...
Still, I think only geeks would go all the way to complain about not having FF =D

I just installed IE8 RC1, I must say, I am somewhat impressed... a lot of the problems that I had viewing this website, are fixed. For once, I could read the comments on the blogs! :DD
Have you guys tried it yet?
This is the one I currently have and I'm using to post:
