Gaim vs. Miranda IM

Gaim
Miranda IM

Did anyone notice the latest, superb if I may add, Gaim news? Miranda guys are going to be in a tough place once the new v2.0.0 features pour in. It's interesting since I'm definitely a Miranda man myself Smile

im especially looking forward to the Gaim-vv features which is the only reason i see atm to be using MSN on some corner. With that feature built right into Gaim i'll be perfectly happy about it.
I just hope Proteus for OSX gets some boosts as well since that is my favourite IM program atm. (it'd be nice to see it for Windows aswell but Smile)

Yeah, it's exactly the Gaim-VV news that are important for the whole of the messaging community; it's going to change the power balance between all of the applications:

After having voice/video in Gaim, there is no reason to use any other application, period. I would only stay with Miranda if they managed responding swiftly with the same features.

I noticed eci was interested in this particular subject, so I'm bumping it up.

I still swear allegiance to the Miranda school, since the plugin system is superbly customizable and the Gaim team really didn't deliver anything with the last release.

We salute your Macapades! Perhaps one day in a better world we will all have dual boots.

Dual boots. How peculiar.
