Robert Smith and his smeared lipstick, smudgy eyeliner and the teased explosion of hair left an unimaginable mark in my psyche when I first discovered the band.

Here's Robert in a TV appearance with Siouxsie & the Banshees from 1982, on French television (Sorry, it's big, 900kb - I ripped it into gif very badly):

Never saw anyone that druggy on television before. Through the whole video, he is unable to smack his cymbals even -once-! The Cure = WIN!
