Re: Recommend software
This thread is already pretty long, but I thought I'd like to add some more programs that I find incomparable! nobile's link, by the way, contains several tools that are very nice, including JKDefrag :) CDBurnerXP is a very good replacement for Nero, with a sleek interface - granted it's compatible ...

Re: Firefox Tips
Here at mozillaZine is a very interesting thread regarding the newly implemented bilinearly filtered image zoom in Firefox 3. It has been a hot potato in the pixel arts/game graphics community, where the filtering effectively breaks websites based on zooming (read: all websites). People have also c...

Re: Firefox Add-ons
Here are two pertinent add-ons , Go Parent Folder and Show Parent Folder , out of which the other (Go Parent Folder) replaces the good old "Locate in Bookmarks Folder Addon". Sadly both are still in the AMO sandbox, so you need to have a login (i.e. Bugmenot) to be able to install them.

Re: #kaka Wiki
How is the Kaka wiki feeling at this stage? Do you have any gripes - apart from the "edit" mode having no Kaka skin, something that I've meant to tackle for a long while now - about the layout, accessibility, look or functions? :) I'd also like to hear if you have any ideas regarding how t...

Re: Anti-Viruses & Firewalls
Yea ClamWin is only really helpful after you've been infected, since it is an "on-demand" scanner (i.e. it doesn't run in the background actively blocking viruses). I really do laud the idea of an open source virus scanner, but the operation really does seem to have its downsides, too. <:(

Wow, I had no idea! Do you mean that they stopped delivering updates to free users, or? AVG is/was the best solution out of that crop as far as I'm personally concerned. ClamWin is open source and free and all but... not very good

Re: New Forum Theme Coming Up!
phpbb3bug.gif That gray left/right border is one weird bug - it shows up for me only when I come to the forums from the front page. The CSS files are so full of various definitions that I will have to do some major searching since Firebug is still down. Perhaps Smeagol could somehow export the FF3-...

An update to the saga! I contacted a local firm for a quote, I'll let you know when I get a response. After that we will have to make a binding list of orders and organize payments.

Re: New Forum Theme Coming Up!
I'm just going to do the unthinkable and make it the default theme for everybody. I've put plenty of time into it recently, and it feels a lot nicer than the usual prosilver theme already. It will take me a while to get the icons sorted out (there are no basefiles to work with - neither with the tem...

Re: Ours: Mercy (Release Date April 1st)
How are you guys feeling about the album at this point? :) For me, the tracks "The Worst Things Beautiful" and "Willing" stand out from the rest, partially because Jimmy came out and admitted that quite a few of the tracks (compared to just Mercy) are in fact from the early 1990s...

At this point in time, the online world is a hostile place, and PeerGuardian is pretty much a given for your personal safety. BlueTack also host blocklists, but have fallen behind somewhat over the recent months. :) If you use PeerGuardian and get annoyed by it blocking Steam, you can exclude this l...

Re: Insurgency
Sad to say but the Eternal Silence team did the very same "mistake" in releasing their recent beta as a 1-day exclusive through FilePlanet. I believe Insurgency had a 3-day one; I've yet to mention this to the ES team, though. Maybe I should, I still think this is a valid point to make. :(

I'm bumping this æons-old thread just to let you guys know that I'm working on a Slowdays forum skin now that phpBB3 (and not phpBB2 , as this thread was originally for! :D) is stable. The skinning is not very easy (what a funny link!), to be honest, and you might be running into horrible things suc...
