Article Series Title Woes

Guys, we're going to have ourselves a recurring article series which deals with obscure FPS games that are either simply old and forgotten, get little publicity and are relatively unknown, or got a little hammered in reviewers. Now the problem is, we're totally struggling to settle on a witty title ...

Re: Songbird Add-ons

The Birdtitle add-on works really great with MinimizeToTray revived (MinTrayR) - you can minimize Songbird to the tray and then simply hover on the tray element to check out what song is playing. The add-on is very customizable too. Notify Me seems rather advanced for those who prefer that sort of t...

Re: Recommend software

Google Chrome poses, in my view, some issues related to privacy and security. For one, Google assigns an unique ID to each Chrome installation for identification. You can certainly bypass this by using UnChrome , but the real issue at hand nevertheless remains. On default settings, Chrome also sends...

Re: The Mod Thread

The next batch of Steamworks mods include at the very least Eternal Silence , Dystopia and PVK II . Assumably more mods would be included - perhaps Neotokyo , who just came out with a trailer ? Fistful of Frags has been updated to version 2.1 , and Empires has been converted to the Orange Box engine...

Songbird Add-ons

Now that Songbird 1.0 has been released, I thought we could collect here the add-ons we use. The modular, open source -based nature of the program is of course the one reason to use the program over iTunes or the most recent Winamp. Here are some of my favourites: Pane Buttons MinimizeToTray revived...

Re: Recommend software

I've been using the Songbird nightly builds . Good stuff! I also tried Pidgin after a long time and it seemed like a good all-around instant messenger. It has matured quite a bit and the overall look and feel is far more polished and less cumbersome than it used to be. It feels finished and I think ...

...in fact, the only thing stopping me from changing over from Winamp 2.95 is basically the lack of a mIRC "playing now" add-on :p I understand the LiveTweeter add-on is supposed to do that sooner or later though. To follow up on this, LiveTweeter 2.3 supports writing currently playing so...

Re: Left 4 Dead

I'm actually betting the release dates (apart from regional variation if you decide to buy the game from the stores) will stay put this time around. They've delayed the game, what, three or four times already? I'd be pretty surprised. Definitely something that I want to play over the holidays too!
